Road Map + Trail Rules/Etiquette

 


The SWNSKI trail is maintained through the hard work of several volunteers.

Please respect their efforts by following these rules on the trail:

  • Do not walk/hike on the upper trail (map below at point "A")...footprints destroy our grooming efforts and create difficult/dangerous skiing conditions.
  • No Dogs on the upper trail.
  • You may walk, sled, take dogs... whatever you want on the lower trail.

12km of free groomed nordic ski trails including a trail for dogs, snowshoes and pulks! The trails are maintained and groomed by club volunteers.

NM Cup 2009 race results in along with photos and a race report!

Feb 22nd, Sunday: Leadville Loppet, 10k, 22k and 44k freestyle events on the gorgeous mineral belt trail. Check out last year's photos and race report. Race proceeds will go towards a groomer machine to keep those trails nice all winter! Registration and race info here.

March 14th, Saturday: The 2nd Annual Pinhead Challenge will take place as part of the Ski Pajarito Skiesta events. Mark you calendars and either wax up your skinny skis for the long trip up and around the mountain, or throw the skins on the tele/AT gear and go for the "whole shot" straight up Dogpatch. Either way, it should be an aerobo-burn of fun. All details to be posted soon . You can read a very entertaining account of last year's event here.
