Fri-Sun Feb. 17-19 Pagosa Winter Fest xc ski/snowshoe events >> These are a blast and a good place to bring kids and try your first xc ski events. Very family-friendly and small-town atmosphere, but fun races and courses. Friday kid races! Lots of prizes, food, plus hot-springs passes!

Enchanted Forest XC Ski and Snowshoe Area >> Fun, non-competitive social event where the whole town makes loads of great desserts and you ski the beautiful EFXC trails to get to the tables laden with them and located at regular intervals. Great way to get newbies to try xc skiing out!

Also another fun, family-friendly and community-run event. This serves as a fundraiser for the Mineral Belt Trail, and much of it is actually on the Mineral Belt Trail. We love the big (no, HUGE) "Crock-Pot" feast they provide at the awards ceremony!

That's right, Pagosa Springs has their own Quadrathlon: a 10km or 5km xc ski, a 5km run, a 20km bike back to town, a 1km swim in the famous hot springs lap pool. How much fun is that?
